We’re excited for another year of great racing and unforgettable moments with all of you!
Last year spoiled us with warm, sunny weather and fantastic turnout —proof that this community just keeps getting better. With more skaters joining the fun, we’re working hard to make the 2026 race our best one ever.
And good news… we’re making a few exciting updates for next year based on your feedback! Stay tuned—registration opens soon, and we’ll email all 2025 participants as soon as it’s live.
NEW: Consolidating Divisions
In previous years, we divided races into Recreational and Open/Advanced divisions. However, we’ve observed that the ability levels often overlap and that this segmentation sometimes dilutes competition and community. Therefore:
- All skaters in the half and full marathon distances (21K and 42K) will now compete in a single division (no “Recreational” vs. “Advanced” split).
- This adjustment is intended to elevate competition, simplify registration, and strengthen camaraderie among participants.
NEW: Age Categories
Last year we brought back age-group awards, and skaters loved it! We’re excited to continue offering age awards in 2026. The exact categories are coming soon—check back here for updates at a later date.
NEW: Early Bib Pickup
Last year we had a last minute opportunity to offer early bib pickup. Skaters absolutely loved this because it gave them a chance to sleep in a little more on race day, ample time to pick up purchases and bibs, browse sponsor tables, catch up with friends, and enjoy some skating at the Prospect Park roller rink. We’re going to offer this option again in 2026. Details coming soon.
